Company Overview

Bizimply is a workforce management solution for bars, restaurants, and cafes. We aim to make store manager's lives easier through user-centric solutions.

My Role

Designer through end-to-end process: research, design, testing, prototyping, ticket management, support through development & release.

Problem

With only 27% of Bizimply's customers using the Task Lists feature, I identified it as an opportunity for improvement, and to align with our '2024 Product Upsell' strategy. My research revealed two critical issues:

  1. 💻 Desktop Focus: The current feature stops on-the-go managers and employees from effectively managing daily tasks on their mobile devices.

  2. 🚫 Lack of Assignment: Task Lists cannot be assigned to a specific user, leading to a lack of accountability and overlooked responsibilities.

Solution

The solution targeted these problems individually, releasing the updates in order of priority to deliver immediate value to customers and accelerate upsells.

  1. 📱 Mobile Optimisation

Recognising that on-the-go managers needed a more flexible solution, we redesigned the Task Lists feature to be fully optimised for mobile devices. This update allowed managers and employees to create, view, and manage tasks seamlessly from their smartphones, enabling them to stay productive no matter where they were.

  1. 📝 Task Assignment

To solve the lack of accountability, we introduced the ability to assign tasks to specific users, or positions. This update ensured that tasks had clear ownership, allowing managers to track progress more effectively and hold employees accountable for their responsibilities.

Result

I set up a number of trackers using Google Analytics, which helped identify the following results:

📈 22% Increase in Feature Adoption: Usage of Task Lists rose by 22% in 3 months since release, reflecting enhanced engagement with the feature.

✅ 42% Increase in Completed Task Lists: Before moving to mobile, we noticed that the majority of Task Lists were left incomplete. 3 months after release, we noticed a 42% increase in the amount of completed Task Lists, demonstrating improved engagement, and more accountability being taken.
